History
In 1967, your Emerald Society was founded by past presidents, Jack McMahon and Bill Conklin.
The 82 members who joined that year are now considered charter members. Monthly meetings were held at the Lake Ronkonkoma Firehouse on Portion Road in Lake Ronkonkoma.
In 1967 our organization became a member of the Grand Council – United Emerald Society of New York.
Mission Statement
To do charitable work in the communities of Suffolk County, N.Y.
To develop a fraternal spirit among police officers of Irish lineage(active or retired)
To promote and foster interest and concern in Irish History, culture & tradition.
To assist members in good standing in their time of need subject to the recommendations of the welfare committee.
To otherwise carry out the purposes as delineated in the Certificate of Incorportation.
To do any other act or thing incidental to or connected with the foregoing purposes or in advancemen thereof, but not for the pecuniary profit or financial gain of its members, officers of directors.
